VW Amarok 2.0 BiTDI Bluemotion Technology

Volkswagen has refreshed the Amarok 2.0 BiTDI with a power boost and Bluemotion Technology to improve fuel economy. The firm has also introduced a new eight-speed automatic gearbox to the range-topping model.
The 2.0-litre BiTDI diesel engine previously produced 161bhp but that figure has now been increased to 178bhp. The entry-level 2.0 TDI engine still produces 121bhp, and all models come fitted four-wheel drive as standard.
The power boost to BiTDI models has improved acceleration, with the 0-62mph time falling by a tenth of a second to 11.0 seconds. All Amaroks equipped with Bluemotion Technology – which includes features like low-rolling resistance tyres, stop-start and regenerative braking – have seen fuel economy improve from 35.8mpg to 37.2mpg, while CO2 emissions have been cut by 10g/km to 199g/km.
